Copywriters, Copy Editors, and Proofreaders: Bringing Art to Business
With few exceptions, it’s customary to select people with a great deal of experience in their work and in business. Some of our copywriters, copy editors, and proofreaders—our artists—have that experience. Others are young and passionate, inspired to follow their hearts, and with boundless youthful energy to produce. These we mentor so they can improve their skills while our clients continue to receive excellent work.
We are all inspired by our work, not by money, although we enjoy that too. Even those who are young and inexperienced are so skilled that they make it look easy. And our editors and proofreaders also have, or are working towards, professional certification.
Although primarily right-brained artists, we are also able to use our left brains. We think before we act. We analyze your request, assess what’s required, and determine the best solution instead of just blindly following instructions. We are reliable and accept responsibility for the business aspects of our work. Ultimately, we ensure the job gets done and it gets done properly, and that’s what our clients appreciate.
To write or even speak English is not a science but an art. There are no reliable words….
Whoever writes English is involved in a struggle that never lets up even for a sentence.
He is struggling against vagueness, against obscurity, against the lure of the decorative adjective,
against the encroachment of Latin and Greek, and, above all, against the wornout phrases and
dead metaphors with which the language is cluttered up.
